Community

This year (2019) Prince George Ford has donated $100,000 to local charities in the community. The goal this year was to donate to charitable organizations that the staff at Prince George Ford had a personal connection with. We also donated $5,000 through our Canada One Auto Group efforts with the Canadian Diabetes Association.

We are proud to announce we chose 8 charitable organizations to donate these funds to and are so glad these funds will go to our local community.

Prince George Humane Society

2019 has been a tough year for the Prince George Humane Society and it is so wonderful for Prince George Ford to be able to donate $10,000 towards operating costs of their Spay/Neuter program, Humane Education and Vaccination and Animal Management programs across Northern British Columbia.

We hope this donation will help them continue their efforts to give a place for education and a haven for these animals in Prince George and outlying communities.

Prince George Hospice House

Last year we donated money to support a room in the Prince George Hospice House. This year we were able to donate another $10,000 to this incredible charity that is such a big part of our community.

This funding will allow the Hospice House to better help the families and patients of the Hospice House. We hope to continue to support the Prince George Hospice House in providing their much needed services in the community.

Northern B.C. Friend of Children Society

The Northern B.C. Friend of Children Society is an amazing charitable organization that helps support families of children with extensive medical conditions. These medical conditions can mean months of hospital stays far from home. Northern B.C. Friends of Children Society helps cover the costs of hotels, groceries, and any other costs associated with travel from Northern B.C. down to locations like Vancouver, Kamloops or Kelowna for a child’s medical treatment.

We are proud to donate $10,000 to support the Northern B.C. Friends of Children Society and hope this funding can help so many families while their children receive the medical care they need.

Kordyban Lodge Peace of Mind Campaign

Everyone knows someone who has been affected by Cancer. We are proud to support the Kordyban Lodge Peace of Mind Campaign in Prince George with our $15,000 donation this year.

This great facility allows patients and their caregivers a place to recover from cancer treatment while receiving care in Prince George. This donation will help towards their goal of lowering the nightly fee to $20.

You can get more information on this awesome program by contacting Aimee Cassie (250) 645-2367.

Prince George Community Foundation (Autism Endowment Fund)

Prince George Ford has a few employees who have a direct relationship with people who have autism. It was a natural choice to support the Autism Endowment Fund, created by the Bassermann family, with Rob Bassermann as a member of our management team.

We are happy to donate $15,000 to support families who have children with Autism right here in Prince George.

Prince George Therapeutic Riding Association

The Prince George Therapeutic Riding Association offers therapeutic and recreational riding to children and adults with disabilities. The staff at Prince George Ford nominated this charity to receive a donation of $15,000.

Getting to meet some of the riders that take part in this program was truly a pleasure. This program brings a light to those who take part in it and Prince George Ford is so pleased we could be a part of it.

Prince George Brain Injured Group Society

The Prince George Brain Injured Group Society has been a part of Prince George for 30 years. The amount of support they provide in our community is immeasurable.

The staff at Prince George Ford chose to donate $10,000 to support the programs offered to individuals with acquired brain injury. Some of the donated funds will be going towards the launch of a new client assessment tool.

Prince George Council of Seniors Society

Prince George Ford is pleased to donate $10,000 to The Prince George Council of Seniors Society to help support their many programs. These include Income Tax clinics, Denture Program, Christmas Hampers, Meals on Wheels, Wellness Promotion Workshops and many more.

Supporting our senior community is so important - a true connection from the older generation with the new is awesome.

Van Donation to Guru Nanaks Free Food Langar PG

Our Pre-Owned Manager Chris Vigue has a long-standing relationship in the community with RANJIT from the Guru Nanaks Free Food Langar PG! A Message from Chris Vigue:"I first got involved with Ranjit in November of 2015 helping feed 5 local elementary schools once a week on my own time as early as 6:00 am to get the van loaded with fresh fruit for delivery to local schools. This continued for 2 school years and any opportunity that was available I made sure to support this great cause which included my employer, friends, family, local businesses and churches as support. This continued throughout the years and enabled me to be a part of donating a van to him in DEC of 2016. Here we are 4 years later at my New employer PG FORD and still supporting GURU NANAKS FREE FOOD LANGAR with the donation of a TOYOTA SIENNA VAN to ensure safe travels for RANJIT and his beautiful family." Wishing you all the best RANJIT and we look forward to seeing how this helps the community. Huge thank you to Signtek Industries for the decals on the van!

$200,000 Donation

A goal was put before Prince George Ford by owner Pat Priestner for the 2018 fiscal year to donate $200,000 to the local community. Each of the 6 charities above were voted in by the employees of Prince George Ford. The Prince George Elizabeth Fry Society, 396 Royal Canadian Air Cadets, Prince George Humane Society, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation and Prince George Hospice House were all given a donation of $25,000. A donation of $45,000 will also be given to the Prince George Branch of the Edgewood Foundation to help those battling with addictions and mental health issues. The Canadian Diabetes Association will also receive $5,000. We look forward to seeing the good this money will do in the community and are proud to call Prince George our home.

100 Days of Giving

The 100 days of giving was an opportunity given to us by a community member who was driven to illuminate the community fellowship. During the campaign 100 individuals around the community had the opportunity to donate $100 to whatever charity they desired. Through this the community opened up, with matching donations and awareness created the campaign was incredibly rewarding for many people in the community.

Test Drive Events 2017

Each year we partner with school and community projects to help fundraise for a variety of efforts. 2017 we supported College Heights and Kelly Road students with raising money for their graduation celebrations. The Ghana school project which is run by an outstanding group of Canadians helping to build a school in Ghana Africa, so far they have completed one stage and have provided students with a suitable structure to learn in as well as toilets. They are now raising money to build more class rooms for older students so school will continue to be a priority to the Ghana community. The library in support of raising funds for their outreach vehicle, and the local 4H group who help teach children about responsibility while taking care and showing a range of animals from chickens and rabbits to horses and cows. During the test drive event supporters can come test drive a Ford vehicle and for each Ford test driven, Ford Canada will donate $20 up to $6,000 per event.
